Privacy Policy
Selectie is an app for football coaches. This privacy policy explains which personal data we process when you use the app, why we do so, and what rights you have. Last updated on 18 August 2026.
Who we are

What data we process
We process two kinds of data: the details of your coach account, and the data you enter in the app about your team and players.
Your coach account
Email address: to create your account, sign in and send you a verification code.
Password: stored encrypted, so we cannot read it ourselves.
Invitations: if you invite a fellow coach, we use their email address to give them access to that season.
Data you enter about your team
As a coach you enter data about your team and players. This may include:
Players' name, shirt number and position
Whether a player plays with dispensation (an age exemption)
Attendance at trainings and matches (present, absent, injured, cancelled or late)
Injuries and injury history
Playing minutes, goals, assists and cards
Your club's name and logo
Players do not have their own account and do not enter anything themselves. Only coaches use Selectie.
Data about underage players
Many teams consist of youth players, so as a coach you enter data about underage players. You, as the coach, together with your club, are responsible for ensuring you are allowed to record this data and that you have obtained consent where required from the player or their parents or guardians. We advise you to enter no more data than is needed to manage your team. Selectie does not collect any data directly from children.
What we use your data for
To make the app work: keeping and showing your team, trainings, matches, selections and statistics.
To manage your account and let you sign in.
To enable collaboration with fellow coaches within a season.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you, and we do not sell your data.
Sharing with other parties
To run the app we use a number of service providers that process data on our behalf:
Clerk: for accounts and signing in.
Convex: for storing your team and match data.
Cloudflare R2: for storing club logos.
These parties process data solely to deliver the service. Some of this processing may take place outside the European Economic Area. We never sell your data and do not share it with parties for advertising purposes.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account, along with all associated data, at any time from within the app. After that, your data is deleted, except for what we are legally required to retain.
Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data. Passwords are stored encrypted and the connection to the app is secured. No service is entirely without risk; if you find a vulnerability, please let us know at info@tommaessen.nl.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Much of this you can arrange directly in the app. For other requests, email info@tommaessen.nl. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. You can always find the most recent version on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
